DRAWING THE BRIM PATTERN

Drawing the brim pattern 1You need to determine the radius ( r ) to create a circle.

r = head circumference divided by 2π

( π = 3.14 )

Here is an example that I used for my Fat Kitty Cat:

r = 14 inches divided by 6.28

r = 2.23 inches

Drawing the brim pattern 2

Draw a circle with the radius ( r ).

Drawing the brim pattern 3

Draw a second circle from the same point.

Measure = r + the brim width

Here is an example that I used for my model Fat Kitty Cat:

2.23 inches + 2 inches = 4.23 inches

Drawing the brim pattern 4

Add seam allowances all around the brim pattern.

( I used 1/4 inch = 6mm seam allowances)

Cut out the brim pattern.
